BTC Radar (iOS · Android) · Updated 11 September 2026
BTC Radar is an app that tracks cryptocurrency prices and rings an alarm when the price reaches a level you set. It collects very little data, and only what it needs to do exactly that.
What the app collects
| Data | What it is used for | When |
|---|---|---|
| Username and nickname (if you set one) | To know whose data this is; the nickname is printed on chart images you share | Only when you choose to sign in |
| Email address | To contact you about your account and subscription if needed. Never used for marketing, never shared. | When you sign in with Apple or Google |
| Notification device token (APNs / FCM) | To deliver the push notification to this particular device | Only when you allow notifications and are signed in |
| The alerts you set (price, RSI, economic calendar, reminders) | Compared against the market to know when to alert you | Created by you |
| Subscriptions purchased | To know which plan you are on and until when; to resolve payment disputes and refunds | When you buy a plan in the app (payment is handled by the App Store / Google Play) |
| Trial device mark | To stop a device from obtaining extra trial time by deleting and re-creating an account. Only a one-way hash of the device identifier is stored (it cannot be reversed into any device), together with that device's trial date and the first account that used it. | When you create or delete an account in the app |
Passwords are never stored in readable form — only a hash (scrypt, with a separate salt for each account).
What the app does NOT collect
- No card details, bank accounts, balances or exchange transactions of yours.
- No location, contacts, photos, health data, microphone or camera.
- No tracking of how you use the app (screens, taps) and no automatic crash reporting. We only count account milestones (creation, renewal, deletion) under a random code — see When you delete your account.
- No tracking. The app embeds no advertising or analytics SDK of any kind.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA), and it never asks for that permission.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising. Only the parties below are involved, and each at the minimum necessary:
- Apple Push Notification service (iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) — they receive the notification content in order to deliver it to your device. This is the infrastructure you must go through to have push notifications on those platforms.
- Sign in with Apple — only if you choose this way of signing in. Apple gives us an identifier that is unique to this app, plus an email address. If you turn on Hide My Email, what we receive is a relay address created by Apple — we never see your real email address. Your Apple password never passes through this app.
- Sign in with Google — only if you choose this way of signing in. The app opens the system sign-in screen and requests read access to your email address only; your Google password never passes through this app. The app embeds no Google SDK for this.
- The App Store (Apple) and Google Play — process subscription payments. We only receive the transaction details (plan, expiry, transaction identifier) needed to activate your plan; we never see your card or payment account details.
- The Binance, Bitget, OKX and MEXC exchanges — the app reads public prices from them. This is one-directional: none of your data is sent there, and the app does not connect to any account on any exchange. Our server also fetches public market figures (market capitalisation, sentiment index, economic calendar) from public sources, with none of your data attached.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Data lives on a private server we operate ourselves; no third-party analytics or storage service is used. While your account is active, data is kept until you delete it or delete the account.
- Delete a single alert: inside the app.
- Unregister this device from notifications: tap Log out in the app — the device token is removed from the account.
- Delete your account: inside the app — open the Settings tab in the bottom bar, tap your profile card at the top, tap Delete account and confirm. App no longer installed? Follow the support page. You do not need to send an email or contact anyone to delete your account.
When you delete your account
Deleted immediately, in the same step:
- every price alert, RSI alert, economic calendar alert and reminder;
- the notification device token and the notification history;
- your display preferences.
The account can no longer be signed in to by any method, and every session on every device ends immediately.
Kept for at most 24 months from the deletion date, in a locked state, then permanently deleted automatically:
- the account record: username, email, nickname (if any), creation date, Apple / Google sign-in identifier and encrypted sign-in credentials (if any);
- subscription history: plans purchased, expiry dates, trial period and the App Store / Google Play transaction identifiers.
This is used only to:
- resolve payment disputes and refund requests;
- prevent deleting and re-creating an account to obtain extra trial time;
- security and incident investigation.
It is never used for advertising and never shared.
The trial device mark is kept separately from the account, so that a device cannot obtain extra trial time by deleting and re-creating an account. It is deleted once that device has not been used to create or delete any account for 24 months.
Statistics (for example: account creation, renewal and deletion dates) are recorded under a random code instead of your name or email. Once the account record is permanently deleted, that code can no longer be linked back to you — what remains is anonymous statistics only.
Want it permanently deleted sooner? Email the address in the Contact section with the username or email of the account. We will permanently delete the retained data, except anything the law requires us to keep.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Any change that widens the scope of what is collected will be announced inside the app before it takes effect.
